Rhinelander has a population of around 8,000 residents and it stands as the retail hub of northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan; bringing the year-around population to around 50,000. Both the Wisconsin and Pelican rivers run through Rhinelander. Boom Lake is located within the City and encompasses a park, shoreline, swimming beach and boat launch. While in Rhinelander make sure you visit the Northwood golf course, an 18-hole public course with clubhouse and restaurant located just at the edge of the City. Rhinelander is home to Pioneer Park Historical Complex which boasts a railroad and logging museum right in the heart of the City. If camping and hunting are to your liking, there are numerous possibilities for those activities throughout Oneida County.
